Attention-Deficit, With or Without Hyperactivity, Among Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Overview

This session explores attention difficulties, with or without hyperactivity, among children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), helping parents and educators better understand how challenges with attention, impulsivity, activity levels, and self-regulation may affect a child’s learning, behaviour, communication, and daily participation.

The session will highlight practical ways to recognise individual needs, distinguish different patterns of behaviour, and apply supportive strategies across school and home environments. Participants will gain practical tools to improve attention, structure routines and environments, support emotional and behavioural regulation, and promote greater engagement, independence, and success in everyday activities.
