Overview
The Gifted Talent Search helps identify your child’s areas of academic strength and determine eligibility for the Gifted Hub Enrichment Programs.
Students will complete a cognitive abilities assessment that measures reasoning skills in three areas:
Verbal reasoning: reasoning with words and language
Quantitative reasoning: reasoning with numbers, patterns, and mathematical ideas
Nonverbal reasoning: reasoning with shapes, figures, visual patterns, and problem-solving tasks
To qualify for a Gifted Enrichment Program, students should score at or above the 90th percentile in the program's area of focus. For example, mathematics programs require a score at or above the 90th percentile in quantitative reasoning or an accepted equivalent measure.
After the assessment, families will receive an individual student report that includes the student’s percentile scores, areas of relative strength, and guidance on whether the student meets the eligibility criteria for relevant Gifted Hub programs.
Please note that participation in the Gifted Talent Search does not guarantee enrollment in a program. Eligibility and placement depend on assessment results, program requirements, and seat availability.
